The only thing that lets it down is the restrictive shade range so I’d really recommend giving it a try if you can find a shade which works for you as it’s a really great brow pencil. I honestly believe this pencil is just as good as the Brow Wiz and it’s £16 cheaper.

I love that the pencil can create really fine, hair-like strokes as I don’t need a lot of filling in for my brows as they’re naturally quite full but the pencil works well at helping to define the shape. The pencil is nice and firm, but it’s soft enough that you don’t have to press too hard and the pencil doesn’t crumble on contact with the skin. I have no idea what kind of sorcery is going on with this brow pencil, but I guess it’s handy if you like to change up the tone of your eyebrows. When I do small, gentle strokes with the pencil the colour is a cooler toned dark brown but when I press the pencil harder the colour becomes a lot warmer. If you were looking at these swatches, you’d think that there were two shades of pencil but it’s just one which is really strange.

I really like the MAC Eye Brows eyebrow pencil but you can’t wind it down which drives me mad, so I like that you can wind this pencil up and down. I’ve seen the ELF Instant Lift Brow Pencil feature in many US YouTuber beauty favourites so I also bought that one too, but it was the Ultra Precise Brow Pencil I wanted to try first as it looked so similar to the Brow Wiz and I was really intrigued to see if it was in fact a dupe. The Brow Wiz is available in a total of ten shades whilst the ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil only has three shades which is very limited, but it’s still a new launch so I really hope they extend the shade range soon as three shades just isn’t enough. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz is £22 and contains 0.08g of product whilst the ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil is £6 and contains 0.05g, so you do get more product in the Brow Wiz. The ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil is £6 which might sound pricey for a drugstore brow product but I’ve been looking for a dupe of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ever since the price jumped up to a massive £22. The newest ELF launches can be found on the ELF UK website, as it takes a few months for them to filter through to Superdrug.
Here in the UK we can now purchase ELF in larger Superdrug stores, on the Superdrug website and the ELF UK website which is amazing.
I am a really big fan of ELF, and I’ve amassed quite the collection of their products since they launched in the UK but I’ve never really delved into their eyebrow collection which needed remedying so I bought the ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil as part of my most recent haul from the ELF UK website.
